Facilitators Capacity Building and Expert Summit held in the Philippines

EIEAsia
with the support of the Environmental Management Programme for Industry
Competitiveness (EPIC) of the United Nations Development Programme
(UNDP) and the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) organized a four-day
training and a series of meetings with Eco-Industrial Development
practitioners and experts from October 11-15, 2003 in Cavite, Philippines.
Around thirty participants working in private and government organizations
with current eco-industrial development (EID) projects in the Asian
region were present. Resource persons from GTZ and the United States
also participated in the event. Development

The
Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) and the German Technical
Cooperation (GTZ) have joined forces to promote and facilitate the
adaptation of eco-industrial principles into Thai industrial and
environmental policies. Since January 2002 this cooperation project
has been assisting IEAT in developing and implementing Concepts,

Industrial Estate Announces Indonesia’s First Eco-Industrial
Estate Project
Jababeka
Industrial Estate, located in Cicarang, West Java, Indonesia, will
adapt the Eco-Industrial Development approach to develop into an
Eco-Industrial Estate. Jababeka IE is one of the prime industrial
estates in Indonesia with more than 900 companies in operation.

2nd
International Conference & Workshop for EID set for March
7-12, 2004 in Bangkok and Rayong, Thailand
EIEAsia is pleased to announce the 2nd International
Conference for Eco-Industrial Development (March 11-12, 2004)
and the 2nd EIEAsia Networking Workshop (March 7-10, 2004) to
be held in Thailand. Responding to the growing interest in eco-industrial
development, the events will feature EID projects and initiatives
from around the world. Hosted by the Industrial Estate Authority
of Thailand (IEAT), the conference & workshop will focus
on strategies and policies for implementation, including tools,
benchmarks and certification for Eco-Industrial Estates.
Join us to meet business and government leaders and practitioners
from around the world to learn about the latest developments
on Eco-Industrial Estates, eco-efficiency solutions and innovative
business models for a circular economy.
